#OPSCANTAS: AMBANK SHOOTER CAUGHT

After several weeks of avoiding police arrest, the suspect accused of slaying a bank officer at AmBank Subang Jaya branch is finally detained.

The suspect who was a security guard at the bank, was arrested at 7am at Kampung Belungkor, Kota Tinggi in Johor Bahru by a group of special police force from the Ops Cantas Unit.

Bukit Aman CID Director, Deputy Commissioner Hadi Ho Abdullah said with the arrest, they believed that the case is solved.

Meanwhile, the Inspector General of Police Khalid Abu Bakar in his official twitter account this morning congratulated the special Ops Cantas Unit for their efficiency leading to the arrest of the main suspect.

“Well done team Ops Cantas Bukit Aman, and thank you Malaysia for the non-stop support,” he tweeted.

It is learnt that Kuala Lumpur Police CID unit would hold a press conference later this afternoon.

On Oct 23, the suspect identified as Ardi Hamza shot at Norazita Abu Talib point-blank as she was opening the bank vault before calling it a day.

On the night of the shooting, Selangor police recovered RM 20,000 in cash at the suspect’s house at Kota Kemuning, Klang. Selangor police also confirmed that the amount stolen from the bank in USJ Sentral Subang Jaya was at RM450,000.

Prior to the main suspect’s arrest, 11 individuals who were believed to be the suspect’s friends and relatives had been arrested to assist the police in connection with the murder - FMT
